To multiply fractions, multiply the tops and the bottoms separately. To divide by a fraction, multiply by its reciprocal (flip it over).

Example 1 — Multiply fractions
Find 2/3 × 3/4.
Solution: (2 × 3) / (3 × 4) = 6/12 = 1/2.
Example 2 — Divide fractions
Find 3/4 ÷ 1/2.
Solution: Flip the second: 3/4 × 2/1 = 6/4 = 3/2.
