Example 1 — Total cost
A pencil costs ₹8 and an eraser costs ₹5. What do they cost together?
Solution: 8 + 5 = ₹13.
Example 2 — Change
Karan paid ₹50 for a notebook that costs ₹35. How much change does he get back?
Solution: 50 − 35 = ₹15 change.
