Chapter 13: Animal Jumps
Every step on a number line is a jump of a fixed size. If we know the start, the jump and the number of jumps, we can find where we land.

Read through these first, then try the practice below.
Example 1 — Jumps of 4
Start at 7 and take 3 jumps of 4 forward. Where do you land?
Solution: 7 + (3 × 4) = 7 + 12 = 19.
Example 2 — Find the rule
What rule continues the sequence 6, 11, 16, 21, ?
Solution: Add 5 each time. Next: 21 + 5 = 26.
